Obituary of Edwin James Surplice

Edwin James Surplice, age 81, a resident of Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale.
Mr. Surplice was born April 13, 1924 in Scranton, PA and was the son of the late Abram and the late Mary (Lane) Surplice.
He served in the Army during World War II .
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael; a brother, Harold; two sisters, Helen Gilpin and Francis Surplice; and a nephew, Joseph Gilpin.
He was a retired meter reader for PPL.
Mr. Surplice was a member of VFW Robert Drake Memorial Post 5823, Hawley, PA
He is survived by three daughters: Theresa Ehwald of Scranton, PA; Mary &William Thek of Kemmerer, WY; Lisa And Donald Johnson of Hawley, PA; and one son & Daughter-in-law, James And Sara Surplice of Hawley, PA; Sister And Brother-in-law, Mary And Stanley Smith of McLean, VA; Former Wife, June Yuskiewicz of Hawley, PA; Granddaughter, Lindsay Clark of Boulder, CO; Granddaughter, Melissa Ashley of Kemmerer, WY; Granddaughter, Monica Matz of Sitka, AK; Grandson, Mark Rechtorovic of Rowland, PA; Grandson, Benjamin Surplice of Hawley, PA; Niece, Rosalie Walker of River Falls, WI; Niece, Mary Wootten of Provo, UT
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in BVM Queen of Peace Cemetery in Hawley.
