Obituary of Winifred Singer Worrell

Winifred Singer Worrell, age 81, of Colony Cove, Tafton died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at home.
Mrs. Worrell was born March 15, 1924 in Barbarton, OH and was the daughter of the late Frederick W. Pep and the late Elizabeth (Hazelton) Singer, owners of the former Peps Inn & Village on Lake Wallenpaupack.
She was predeceased by a son, Rand and her husband of 61 years, L. Bruce Worrell.
Winnie was known for homespun wisdom and common sense. It was her wish to be at home with family and able to look out at her beloved Lake Wallenpaupack in her final days.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Worrell was a 1941 graduate of Hawley High School and earned a BA in English Literature from Penn State University in 1945. She was the eldest female member of Paupack United Methodist Church, member of WSCS (now United Methodist Women), member of the Wallenpaupack Historical Society, a co-founder of The 55 Plus Club, a volunteer at the Paupack United Methodist Church and the Food Pantry.
She is survived by two daughters: Sharon W. Rosenberg of New Lebanon, Elizabeth Liz Johnson of Hawley, PA; Son & Daughter-in-law, Gregory & Wendy Worrell of Woodinville, WA; Son & Daughter-in-law, Jeffrey & Carol Worrell of Mt Vernon, WA; 7 Grandchildren, Abe & Mike Rosenberg; Kieran & Ian Worrell; Amy & Kelsey Worrell; Kaylee Johnson and one brother, Fred JR Singer of Paupack, PA.
As per her wishes, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
