Obituary of Loretta Goodwin

Loretta Goodwin, age 89, of Hawley died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Born in Blooming Grove, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Julia (Oman) Hess. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Ellson Leroy Goodwin in 1968. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a machine operator by Vacca-Arrow Throwing Mill in Hawley. She attended St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hawley. She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law: Shirley and Leo Hughey of Honesdale, PA; a son and daughter-in-law: Edward & Dixie Goodwin of Lakeville, PA; a son: William Goodwin of Hawley, PA; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daugher, Marion Masker, in 2004 and a brother, John Hess, in 1999. Loretta will be greatly missed by all her grandchildren, especially Mike, who was her helper for many years. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. David Heckler, Pastor of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley.
