Obituary of Richard C. Poynton

Richard C. Poynton, age 65, of Hawley, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at his home. Mr. Poynton was born April 16, 1940 in Suffern, NY, and was the son of Mildred D. (Ruby) Poynton and the late Richard C. Poynton. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann M. Bublitz Poynton. He served in the Army from 1961 to 1963. He was retired as a paper technologist for Champion Paper in New York for 10 years. Mr. Poynton was a member of the Hawley United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church in Sugar Loaf, NY, and the Warwick Rod & Gun Club. He also coached Little League Baseball and football for many years in Warwick, NY. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Charles R. Poynton and his fiancee, Jodie Ince, of New Hampton, NY; his son & daughter-in-law: Todd A. & Valarie Poynton of Johnson, NY; his son & daughter-in-law: Tim & Christine Poynton of Clinton, MA; his mother: Mildred Poynton; his sister & brother-in-law: Dorothy & Julius Nagy of Surprise, AZ; and grandchildren: Andrew Henneman, Taylor and Thomas Poynton. The Memorial Service will be Monday April 17th at 10:00am at Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, 1387 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf, NY. Burial will be in the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, NY. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Wayne Unit, 110 4th St., Suite 9-12, Honesdale, PA 18431-1869; The Salvation Army or the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, PO Box 98, Bellvale, NY 10912.
