Obituary of Leonard Yankielunas

Leonard Yankielunas, age 90, of Havre DeGrace, MD, died Thursday, May 18, 2006, at Citizens Care Center in Havre DeGrace. Born in Nanticoke, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley and the late Mary (Chernefski) Yankielunas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Julia, in 1996. He served in the Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement he had been a home builder and had lived in Lakeville, PA, for 50 years prior to moving to Maryland. He is survived by two nephews: Alan Yankolonis of Havre DeGrace, MD, and Barry Yankolonis of Sparks, MD. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 12 to 1 PM at Teeters' First Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Teeters' First Chapel. Rev. William Samford, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Hawley will oficiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre.
