Obituary of William R. Tek

William R. Tek, age 93, formerly from Greentown, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart. Mr. Tek was born December 5, 1912 in New York City, NY and was the son of the late Matthew and Kathryn (Hettlinger) Tek. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Anne Salak Tek and a daughter, Brenda A. Davis. He retired in 1966 as an executive sales manager for Jacob Ruppert Brewery in NYC. He was co-owner of Shiny Mountain Mink Ranch form 1948 to 1965. He was also a Red Cross 12 gallon blood donor and did volunteer work for the Dade County (FL) Foundation. He is survived by one daughter: Melanie Tek of Greentown, PA; one sister: Elsie Yandrasitz of Lake Hopatcong, NJ and one brother: Frederick Thek of Greentown, PA Calling hours will be Friday Sept. 29, from 7 to 9 PM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Saturday Sept. 30, at 11:00AM at First Presbyterian Church, Church St, Hawley with Rev. William Samford, Pastor officiating.
