Sunday Venese, age 87, of Reston, VA, and formerly of Hawley, PA, died Monday, October 23, 2006, at Inova Loudoun Hospital, Lansdown, VA. Born August 25, 1919, in Patterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Vacca. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Venese, in 1961. She was devoted to her family and friends. She was noted for her talent in making crafts to support charitable fundraisers and as an active member of the Willing Workers at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The last five years she resided at a retirement home in Reston, VA, Hunters Woods Fellowship House. She enjoyed attending the activities at a nearby senior center and was on the Board of Directors. She attended the United Christian Parish of Reston along with her family. Last year she was recognized by the Fairfax County government as one of the outstanding volunteers of the year. She is survived by one son: Daniel Venese of Reston, VA; a brother: Daniel Vacca of Hawley, PA; and a granddaughter, Christine Venese of Sterling, VA. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 to 11 am at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 405 Church St., Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 405 Church St., Hawley, with Rev. David Heckler, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 405 Church St., Hawley, PA, 18428
