Obituary of Walter E. Marienschek

Walter E. Marienschek, age 81, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. He was a former Hawley resident.
Mr. Marienschek was born May 16, 1925 in South Plainfield, NJ and was the son of the late Walter and Lucy Marie (Bish) Marienschek.
He served in the Navy during World War II and the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Betty Jones Marienschek and 2 sons, Walter III and Harry.
He was a retired conductor for the Jersey Central Railroad and following his retirement he worked on the Stourbridge Line and Steamtown U.S.A.
Mr. Marienschek was a member of American Legion & VFW in Hawley, Air Force Sgts Assn., United Transportation Union, and was also a former member of the Wayne County Sheriff's Assn. and Steamtown Assn.
He is survived by two daughters: Susan Gerstenberg of Pinnacle, NC, Patricia Engel of Graton, CA and one son: Frank Marienschek of Duryea, PA and 9 grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Feb. 22, from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral will be Friday, Feb. 23, at 11:00AM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Pastor Hawley United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley.
