Joseph H. Clark, age 85, of Brighten at Julia Ribaudo, Lake Ariel, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at VNA Hospice, Scranton. Born June 20, 1922, in Lackawaxen, PA, he was the son of the late William F.and Mary (Kestler) Clark. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, the former Eva G. Ernst, in 1995.
A World War II Marine Corps veteran, he was a construction laborer prior to his retirement in 1994. Mr. Clark was a member of Laborers' Local #158, Harrisburg, PA. Prior to moving to Brighten at Julia Ribaudo in Lake Ariel last year, he had been a Lackawaxen resident for 49 years. He was also a chicken farmer in Pike Co. for many years.
He is survived by one daughter: Barbara Balmer of Hawley, PA; one sister: Patricia McKean of Clarksville, VA; a granddaughter: Kathleen Conklin of Lackawaxen, PA; twin great granddaughters: Alora & Alayna; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Gemp and Gertrude Christian, and four brothers, Bernard, William, Thomas & Mickey.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters East Chapel. The funeral mass will be Wednesday, July 18, at 11:00AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 319 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor, officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
