Lynn posted a condolence
Dear Mom,
You were my one link to my Granddaughter and now that is gone. I have missed her so very much for the past 8 years as you well knew. It is hard to believe that is half of her life. She has left a wonderful note for you on this site and I am so proud of her words. Even in death you have kept the link momentarily alive, thank you for letting me get to read her words. We miss you now and always. Sending much love to Heaven

I miss you very much but I am comforted in knowing that you are in a better place, where you were ready to go. You've always been, and always will be, my favorite person. I know that you and I were so lucky to have had the relationship that we had for so long. I love you.

I just found out today that you passed. As soon as I read the letter from Aunt Lynn I started crying. I got in the house from my first day as a Senior in High School and called 411. I talked to Abby for the first time in a really long time. Gramme, you meant so much to me and still do... its going to be very weird going through a holiday without getting a card from you. I looked forward to it. I remember all the times at the lake where I would play the banjo very badly or I would ask you or someone in the house to tell me a bedtime story. I also remember the day you and Justine took that plunge down the hill with the golf cart. That scared me soo much. I still remember screaming. Gramme I love you! Rest in Peace!
Love always,
Amanda

So many fond memories of times George and I spent with Elsie and Al. Despite our age difference, which as a high schooler seemed enormous, I always felt a closeness. Nothing was better than Friday night at the races. Of course the fact that Lynn is only 3 hours younger than Bambi, can you believe they are 53 thought I was, made for many fun, wet times in Millington. I only regret that we didn't have a chance to see one another in our "older" years. Elsie will always be remembered fondly. Please accept my sympathy and you will be in my prayers and thoughts.

O boy do I have a lot of memories, where do I start?
My brother, Chris, and cousin Brian, grew up on the lake with gramme every summer. She would let us go out on the boat, but she always had the binoculars in her hands watching us.
Gramme had old clothes in the basement from her and Pa, and the three of us would come upstairs dressed up in these clothes that were all 5 x's too big on us. We'd all end up tripping up the stairs. By the time we got up the stairs she would be laughing so hard she'd have tissues wiping the tears from her eyes.
Her Elvis poster on the back of her door was the best.
Brian, Chris and I learned how to drive in her Jeep on the back roads on the wet leaves. You can only imagine where the rear of the car went when we flew around the corners.
As I got older I brought my 2 girls up to the lake so they could have some of the memories I do. All the photos I took of them with gramme, Mandi playing hairdresser and putting grams hair in rollers and Justine as a baby sucked on her knee when teething.
Gramme, even when you took your ride in the lake with the golf cart with Justine, your spirits were always high. I miss you to pieces and know I will have a guardian angel looking over me at all times. All the memories you have given me I will bring back to you when we see each other again.
Sweet dreams my gramme, I love you, xoxoxo Becker

I'm gram's great grandaughter. One of my memories of being with Gram is going down the rocks into the lake in an out of control golf cart. Luckily I was fine, Gram was a little hurt. She saved my life that day. I will miss her a lot. I love her. Justine

I knew Al better, but did speak with Elsie once in a while. I'm so sorry for your loss.
