The Lord blessed us all with Randy. The Lord did a wonderful work in him. I will miss the sweet phone calls and hearing his voice, and the first thing he would say was Hi Ma. He would say that you and the girls meant so much to him. He was a good son-in-law and I miss my Hillbilly.

I remember well Randy's energy and zest for life when we were kids. He was always smiling and laughing. As with most families as they grow up and grow apart we didn't have much contact but I am grateful that I got to talk with him last year and laugh as always. He will be missed. I know that Randy will be watching over his family from where he is and will remain close. Love you Randy, Cousin Karen

Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." What a wonderful thought, that Jesus was right there to take Randy by the hand to a much better place. If we keep our focus on Jesus, we can find the joy of knowing, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we will meet again. What a great reunion that will be, as we meet in the presence of our Lord, Jesus. Thanks be to God!!!!

What do you say about Randy?...He had this big hart that tried to help everyone he came in contact with. He loved his girls and he always talked about the light of his life, Chrissy. He will be missed more than any of us can imagine. For a big man, he was tender and caring. He was just like having another "girlfriend". We will miss you Randy! Like Doug always says, "It's not goodbye, but Goodnight, we'll see you in the morning". We love you Randy and we'll see you in Heaven.

Sandy and Chrissy, it has been such a privilege to have had the time to get to know Randy. Oh how I enjoyed our daily talks and the days he and Timmy were here at the house working. For such a gruff kind of guy he had the most sensitive heart not always seen in men. Looking at those great eyes staring at me right now almost makes me feel he is right here, those eyes that showed so much expression. Randy had such an openness about him that shined through. I am so glad that I have the room that he and Timmy built that was in memory of my Russell which now will also be in memory of Randy also. Sandy thanks for sharing a small bit of Randy with me, I'll always hear him saying "Bye Mom, I love ya" at the end of his nightly calls.

How can I put words to what I am feeling?
Seeing you and the girls with Randy always made me smile, especially seeing him with his “three little princesses”. He was so big next to Brianna, Ally, and CaCa, yet he showed such tenderness with them. The love that he felt for all of you just shone on his face when he was with you. I am so very glad that the Lord brought your whole family to us at Blooming Grove. You are our family now and our heart breaks with you at your loss of Randy here on earth. Just know that one day you will see him again when you meet in heaven. I would like you to remember my favorite verses, which have helped me through many rough times:
John 14:1, 2
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
I am confident that we will see Randy again, because he did know the way to the Father’s house, and now lives in that beautiful house that we can only imagine here on earth.

WATER BUGS AND DRAGONFLIES
In order to help explain what has happened to Randy I would like to share with you a story about Water Bugs and Dragonflies.
Down below the surface of a quiet pond lived a little colony of water bugs. They were a happy little bunch, living far below the surface of the water. For many months they were very, very busy, scurrying over the soft mud on the bottom of the pond. Their only worry was having to stay away from the fish! They were much busier than Brianna, Alyson or Caitlyn!
They did notice that every once in a while one of their group seemed to lose interest in going around with its friends. Clinging to the stem of a pond lily, it gradually moved out of sight and was seen no more.
“Look!” said one of the water bugs to another. “One of our bugs is climbing up the lily stalk. Where do you suppose he’s going?”
Up, up, up it went slowly. Even as they watched, the water bug disappeared from sight. Its friends waited and waited but it never returned.
“That’s funny!” said one water bug to another. “Wasn’t he happy here?” asked a second water bug. “Where do you suppose he went?” wondered a third.
No one had an answer. They were greatly puzzled.
Finally one of the water bugs, a leader in the colony, gathered its friends together. “I have an idea. The next one of us who climbs up the lily stalk must promise to come back and tell us where he or she went and why.”
“We promise!” they all said.
One spring day, not long after, the very water bug who had suggested the plan found himself climbing up the lily stalk. Up, up, up he went. Before he knew what was happening, he had broken through the surface of the water, and fallen onto the broad, green lily pad above.
When he awoke, he looked around with surprise. He couldn’t believe what he saw. A startling change had come to his old body. His movement revealed four silver wings and a long tail. Even as he struggled, he felt an impulse to move his wings. The warmth of the sun soon dried the moisture from the new body. He moved his wings again and suddenly found himself up above the water. He had become a dragonfly!
Swooping and dipping in great curves, he flew through the air. Oh, what fun he had! He felt exhilarated in the new atmosphere.
By and by, the dragonfly landed on a lily pad to rest. Then it was that he chanced to look below to the bottom of the pond. Why, he was right above his old friends, the water bugs! There they were, scurrying about, just as he had been doing some time before.
Then the dragonfly remembered the promise: “The next one of us who climbs up the lily stalk will come back and tell where he or she went and why.”
Without thinking, the dragonfly darted down. Suddenly he hit the surface of the water and bounced away. Now that he was a dragonfly, he could no longer go into the water.
“I can’t return!” he said in dismay. “At least I tried, but I can’t keep my promise. Even if I could go back, not one of the water bugs would know me in my new body. I guess I’ll just have to wait until they become dragonflies too. Then they’ll understand what happened to me, and where I went.”
And the dragonfly flew off happily into its wonderful new world of sun and air.
We can thank God for the miracle that makes shiny dragonflies out of ugly water bugs. We can also thank God for the miracle of new life in Christ Jesus.
Randy has gone and he won’t be coming back. We will miss him. Things just won’t ever be the same without him. Where has he gone? Like the water bugs, we don’t know where he has gone by what we can see, but by faith in God’s Holy Word, the Bible we can know where he is today. Jesus said, ... I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. ...
John 11:25,26.
Today Randy is experiencing life like never before! Though the body we associated with Randy is no more, the real Randy we knew and loved will live forever!
The change in our bodies, which we call death, will come to each of us, sometime. But we don’t have to fear death if we are trusting in Jesus.
Dear God,
Thank you for this story. Please remember Randy, who left the pond we live in. Give him a good life in your wonderful new world.
Thank You for loving Rabdy. Thank you for washing away all his sins so that he can live with you in Heaven. Thank you that you will give Randy a brand new body that will never hurt again. Thank you that you love me as well. I am sorry for all the bad things I have done, please forgive me.
Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross for my sins and for rising again. Help me to obey you.
Thank you for the hope that I will see Randy again in Heaven one day. Take care of him for me and tell him we all love him and will miss him. Tell him I said “Good night, I’ll see you in the morning.”
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
