Obituary of Marguerite L. Schmitt

Marguerite "Rite" L. (Eggenberger) DeCandido Schmitt, age 77, of Blooming Grove, PA, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at the home of her dedicated caregivers, son & daughter-in-law, Chris & Janet DeCandido. Mrs. Schmitt was born May 2, 1930, in Lackawaxen Twp., PA, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Marguerite (Woodworth) Eggenberger. She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Corrado DeCandido, in 1964, her 2nd husband, Paul Schmitt, in 1971 and a son, David DeCandido. "Rite" as she was affectionately called by her many nieces & nephews was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother and grandmother. She was a retired cafeteria worker at Wallenpaupack Area School District. Mrs. Schmitt was a former member of the Blooming Grove PTA, St. Luke's Church Ladies Aide, St. Luke's Council and was a caregiver to her nieces & nephews. She is survived by three sons: Allan DeCandido of Greeley, PA; Chris & Janet DeCandido of Hawley, PA; Anthony DeCandido & Janet Bunce of Hawley, PA; two sisters: Anne Schmalzle of Lords Valley, PA, and Katherine Bea of Park City, UT; one brother: Edward Eggenberger of Greeley, PA; one grandson: Corrado C. DeCandido; one great grandson, Corrado C. DeCandido, III; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 26, at 6:00PM at St Luke's Lutheran Church in Greeley. Memorials may be made to St Luke's Lutheran Church, Greeley, PA 18425
