Obituary of Richard Edward Molzhan

Richard Edward Molzhan, age 87, of Seeley's Landing, Tafton, devoted husband, father and grandfather, courageously flew his last mission on Mon., Sept. 10, in Binghamton,NY. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Mary Jane Anderson.
Born August 31, 1920, in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Hazel (Hucke) Molzhan. He was a graduate of Allentown High School and an employee of the Allentown Morning Call prior to joining the Army Air Corps during World War II. He served with the 8th Air Force in Great Ashfield, England, and flew 31 missions in a B17 bomber for which he received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters and 4 Bronze Stars. He was a life member of the 8th AFMS and the 385th BGMA.
He spent many years in millwork and builders hardware at Premier Products in Philadelphia prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the PA Game Commission, a member of the NRA and was an avid fisherman for trout and salmon and a devoted hunter for small game.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Janet Gilligan and her husband, Mike, of Endicott, NY, Barbara Dangleman and her husband Lee of Maitland, FL, and Judy Molzhan of Hamilton, VA; three grandsons: David Gilligan and his wife, Melissa, of Binghamton, NY, Matt Gilligan and his wife, Kristen, of Newport News, VA, and Christopher Gilligan of Endicott, NY; one granddaughter: Virginia Bennett; and four great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Sept. 13, from 3 to 5 PM at Teeters East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley. There will be Memorial Service on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, Church St, Hawley, with Rev. William Samford, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap VA National Cemetery, Annville, PA, on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 10:30 AM.
