Russell B. Davis, age 88, of Lakeville died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at VNA Hospice at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Arthea M. Sheehan. They were married in 1946. Born January 11, 1925, in Lackawaxen Twp., he was the son of the late Jesse and Harriet (Lempfert) Davis. He was a World War II Army veteran and received a Purple Heart. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a heavy equipment operator for many area construction companies. In his free time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Deborah Radzieski and her husband William of Lakeville and Kathy Kimble of Georgetown, TX; a son: Gary and his wife Ilona of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren: Julann Vjoba, Jeremy, Tom and Michael Davis, Gail Davenport, Laurie Kimble and Sarah Radzieski; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Fred, Cliff and Donald Davis, and two sisters: Gladys Farrell and May Firmstone. The funeral will be Saturday, August 24, at 11:00 AM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, with Pastor James Lewis of Lakeville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lakeville Cemetery, Lakeville, following the funeral. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association NEPA District, 613 Baltimore St., Suite 3, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
