Obituary of Richard L. Coutts

Richard L. Coutts, age 77, of Paupack, died unexpectedly Friday, November 9, 2007, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Born July 26, 1930, in Paupack, he was the son of the late George E. and Anna (Gumble) Coutts, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Grace Lennox.
A graduate of Hawley High School, Class of 1948, he served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. A lifelong resident of Paupack, he was a self-employed building contractor and a member of Paupack United Methodist Church. Mr. Coutts was a former President of the Wallenpaupack Area School District Board, an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman, and loved reading about history and geneology.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons: Richard D. Coutts of Hemlock Farms, Hawley, Dennis O. Coutts of Paupack, Russell S. Coutts of Hawley, Ron A. Coutts of Hershey, and Philip E. Coutts of Paupack; one sister: Beatrice Martin of Tafton; five brothers: George (Bud) Coutts of Paupack, Harold Coutts of San Antonio, TX, Albert Coutts of Paupack, Donal Coutts of Paupack, and James Coutts of Paupack; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Eugene.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 10 to 11 AM at Paupack United Methodist Church, Rt 507, Paupack, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 11:00 AM at Paupack United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert B. Kolvik-Campbell, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack.
