Obituary of James Douglas Worzel

James Douglas Worzel, age 41, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley, died Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Mr. Worzel was born May 26, 1966, in Callicoon, NY, and was the son of Minerva (Caccia) Worzel and the late Robert R. Worzel. A graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, he served in the Army from 1985 to 1988. He was an avid hunter and golfer as well as a great Jets fan. He enjoyed most outdoor activities and supported his children's activities. He was employed as a corrections officer by S.C.I. in Waymart and had worked at Woodloch Pines for more than 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 16 years: Karen Lynne (Kensky) Worzel; two daughters: Dana Lynne Worzel and Erin Alyse Worzel; one son: Ryan James Worzel, all at home; his mother Minerva (Caccia) Worzel; a sister & brother-in-law: Gail & Bill Steuhl of Greeley; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Glenn & Jeff, in 1991. Calling hours will be Monday, Nov. 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Hawley United Methodist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 11:00 AM at Hawley United Methodist Church, 315 Church St., Hawley, with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in German Hill Cemetery in Shohola. Donations may be made to the Worzel Children's Fund c/o Dime Bank, Main Ave., Hawley, PA 18428
