Obituary of Ronald George Ferris Gay

Ronald George Ferris Gay, age 82, of Woodloch Springs, Hawley, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale. Born May 13, 1925, in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late William and Genevieve (Scherer) Gay. He is survived by his wife of 4 years, the former Barbara Frasier. A World War II Navy veteran, he served as an aviation machinist/hydraulic specialist from 1943 to 1951. Prior to his retirement, he was a manager of a camping store. After retiring and moving to Woodloch Springs, he enjoyed bowling, golfing and painting. He was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter: Carol Matthews of Florida; a daughter & son-in-law: Claudia and Jim Finamore of Long Island, NY; three step-children and their spouses: Elisabeth and Johan deBlieck of New York, Bruce and Cristina Frasier of Tennessee and Douglas and Lailla Frasier of Texas; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday, Dec. 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 29, at 10:00 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church, Church Road, Rowland, with Rev. Norman R. Beighley, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley.
