Irma A. Smith, age 84, of Lakeville died Saturday, January 12, 2008, at home.
Mrs. Smith was born May 23, 1923, in Germany and was the daughter of the late Erich Claus and Wilhelmine Catharina (Heinsohn) Beckmann.
She was a retired mortgage officer.
Mrs. Smith was a former Rockville Center-Morris School P.T.A. President and had 2 beloved cats, Sierra & Nutmeg, and was active with gardening, reading and loving her 2 grandchildren.
She is survived by one son: Caleb V. Smith, III of Brooklyn, NY; a daughter & son-in-law: Nancy & Mike Mastroianni of Lakeville, PA; 2 grandchilren: Gina & Joseph Mastroianni; two sisters: Ann Stamm of New Bern, NC, and Lilly Yoder of Cocoa Beach, FL; two brothers: Dr. Robert Beckmann of Anderson, SC, and Ronald Beckmann of Branson, MO; and many nieces & nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 17, from 9:30 to 11 AM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Thursday, January 17, at 11:00 AM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Pastor of Hawley United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
