Grace Gillespie Hall, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the home of her daughter in Ponca City. She was 94. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM Monday, March 10, 2008, at St. Marys Catholic Church, Ponca City, OK. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Paupack, PA, on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 9:45AM, with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor of BVM Queen of Peace RC Church, as Celebrant. The family will greet friends at Teeters East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley, from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Grace was born on Thurday, August 21, 1913, in Pittston, PA, to the late Francis Patrick Gillespie and Mary Alice (Wegge) Gillespie. She attended boarding school along with her twin sister Katharine at Marywood, Scranton, PA. She went to Marywood Seminary and graduated from Marywood College with a BA degree in June 1935. Grace married Janion Jack Hall on Dec. 24, 1939, in Pittston, PA. They resided in Paupack on a farm which she had lived all her life. She was employed by the Wallenpaupack Area School District as a teacher for 29 years. She never missed a day of teaching. Grace moved to Ponca City to live with her daughter in 1997. The family visited the farm each summer. She is survived by her daughter: Mary Grace Yates of Ponca City, OK; two granddaughters: Grace Katharine Yates Davis and her husband Court of Ponca City and Anne Elizabeth Yates of Bath, England; a great grandson: John Michael Yates; and a sister-in-law: Adaline Gumble Schumacher of Ponca City. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Frank, and her twin sister Katharine Hennigan. Grace was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jack, in 1985. She will be remembered for her undefeatable spirit, her love of people, and her inordinate sense of fun. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N.
