Obituary of Thomas A. Danilovitz

Thomas A. Danilovitz, age 59, of Lakeville, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at CMC Hospice in Scranton. Born April 9, 1948, in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Kurek) Danilovitz. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Marlene Herrmann. A graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, Class of 1966, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War. A lifelong resident of Lakeville, he owned and operated Lakeville Lawn & Garden. He was also the former manager of the White Mills Coca-Cola Plant. He was a Paupack Township Supervisor for 17 years, served on the Paupack Township Planning Commission, the Board of the Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District, the Board of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors, and was past president of the Wayne County Supervisors Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Jon and Sande Danilovitz of Lake Ariel, PA; a daughter and son-in-law: Emily and Richard Scholl of Tafton, PA; and two grandsons: Andrew & Ryan Danilovitz. He was preceded in death by a brother, James. A memorial service will be held on Sat., May 3, at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of the Lake Region, 110 4th St., Suite 9-12, Honesdale, PA 18431-1869.
