Samuel C. Tschop, age 82, of Carlisle died Monday, May 26, 2008 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. A resident of Carlisle for 2 years, he was formerly of Lake Wallenpaupack, PA and Oradell, NJ. Born March 18, 1926, in Red Lion, PA, he was the son of the late Perry and Laura (Brillhart) Tschop. A World War II Navy veteran, he was a graduate of Bucknell University with a BS in Engineering. He was a civil engineer for Alfred Crew Consulting in Oradell, NJ, prior to his 1987 retirement. Very active in his community prior to his retirement, he was a former Councilman and past President of the Board of Health in Oradell, NJ. He had been an avid reader who loved to fish and play golf. He was married to the late Elizabeth "Betty" Denning Tschop for 48 years and Dorothy Williams for 6 years. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert. He is survived by one daughter: Sandy Wyckoff of Carlisle, PA; one son: David Tschop of Dingmans Ferry, PA; and five grandchildren: Elizabeth, David, Mike, Dan and Jasmyn. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 28, from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday, May 29, from 8:30 to 10 AM at Paupack United Methodist Church, Rt 507, Paupack, PA. The funeral will be Thursday, May 29, at 10:00 AM at Paupack United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert B. Kolvik-Campbell, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack.
