Harold A. Dresch, 89, of Woodloch Springs, Hawley, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, following an illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Julia Kavanagh, in 1995. Born December 6, 1923, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Annie Dresch. He served in the Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the New York City Transit Authority as a subway car mechanic. He was a member of BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, the Woodloch Springs Men's Nine Hole Golf League and the Woodloch Springs Bowling League. He also enjoyed model trains and ham radio. He is survived by his son: Peter Dresch and his wife Rosemary of Naples, FL, and Hawley, PA; two grandchildren: Brian Dresch and his wife Katie and Shannon Dresch; two great grandchildren: Hailey and Campbell Dresch; his longtime friend: Ina McNeely; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne and Katherine, and two brothers, Frank and Peter. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, from 3 to 7 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, September 23, at 10 AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave., Hawley, with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at BVM Queen of Peace Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to BVM Queen of Peace Church, 314 Chestnut Ave., Hawley, PA 18428.
