Obituary of Leonard F. Loch

Leonard F. Loch, Sr., age 90, of Lakeville died Monday, September 3, 2012 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. Mr. Loch was born June 4, 1922 at Olyphant, PA and was the son of the late Francis Wahl and Theresa (Trzuskawka) Loch. He was predeceased by his wife Sophie (Malhenzie) Loch on Aug. 26, 2012 and two brothers Francis & Andrew Loch. He served with the 490th bomb group during WW II aboard a B17 bomber. After the war he relocated to Bridgeport, CT where he worked at G.E. for several years before becoming a police officer for the City of Bridgeport, CT. He served on the department for over 26 years, retiring with the rank of Captain in 1976. After his retirement he moved to Lakeville, PA where he was the owner of Loch's Stihl Chainsaw Equipment and Repair. He was a member of the Secular Franciscans at B.V.M. Queen of Peace Church in Hawley, PA. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also loved boating, watching tv, especially baseball and football. He was an avid reader and also loved crossword puzzles. He was predeceased by two brothers: He is survived by one son: Leonard "Len" Loch Jr. of Lakeville, PA; one daughter & son-in-law, Patricia & Jim Hanlon of Oxford, CT; grandchildren: Jimmy Hanlon And Fiancee Amy Cook and, Kara And David Bouchard; one great grandchild, Sophia Bouchard; one sister & brother-in-law: Theresa & Stanley Romanski of Hamlin, PA and one brother: George Loch of Marietta, GA; and; sister-in-law, Lorraine Loch of Milford, CT and several nieces & nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 8th at 10 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery in Hawley.
