James McKenna, age 73, of Hawley died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. He was born August 3, 1935, in Staten Island, NY, and was the son of the late John and Anna (Carty) McKenna. He fought a courageous battle with diabetes. He was former owner of the Red Rooster Antique Shop Stapleton, Staten Island and Saugerties, NY. His greatest love was attending auctions as well as buying and selling antiques. He was retired from the Mason Tenders Union. He was employed as a construction worker by Mason Tender Union.He is survived by two sons: Timothy McKenna of Staten Island, NY, and James McKenna of Point Pleasant, NJ; three sisters: Elizabeth Valente, Elaine Gillespie and Margaret Vasquenz; one brother: Thomas McKenna; four stepchildren: Claire Donovan, Diane Jost, Alexander Zgardowski and Ellen Percoro; and 3 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother: John McKenna, and a sister: Maryann Dodge. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00PM at TEETERS' East Chapel, with Rev. William Samford, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Hawley, officiating. Cremation will follow at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
