Obituary of Philip Walter O'Neil

Philip Walter O'Neil, age 72, of Greeley died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family after his courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Mr. O'Neil was born August 6, 1936 in East Stroudsburg, PA and was the son of the late Jack and Eudella (Lesoine) O'Neil. He graduated with B.S. from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and earned his M.S. from Bowdin College. He retired as a math teacher at William Tennant High School, Lower Moreland High School and more recently at Delaware Valley School District. He enjoyed most of his retirement being outdoors, and especially loved hunting and fishing. He touched lives of many and those who knew him, loved him. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Kathleen M.(Tamplin) O'Neil and three sons: Jack O'Neil of San Diego, CA, Shawn O'Neil of Basalt, CO, Scott O'Neil of Fayetteville, NY; two stepdaughters, Nancy Fish of Shawnee, PA and Linda Agasar of Newtown, PA; several grandchildren; one sister: Vesta Kuhn of Coopersburg, PA and one brother: Jay O'Neil of Darmouth, MA and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 12, at 11:00AM at St Luke's Lutheran Church, Greeley with Rev. Donald Beck, officiating. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
