Robert G. Cudney, age 81, of Hawley, died Thursday, December 25, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Mr. Cudney was born February 25, 1927, in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and was the son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Klatte) Cudney. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara M. Cleary Cudney. He served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946 during World War II. Robert was a former building inspector in Lewisboro, NY, and more recently for Palmyra Twp, Wayne County. He received an Associates Degree from New York State Institute of Health and Sciences in White Plains, NY. He had been active with the Lewisboro Ambulance Corp. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and coached with the Lewisboro Baseball Association. He was also a member of the South Salem Fish and Game Association. Robert loved his family and enjoyed their company as they visited in his home. As a carpenter, he was proud to have built his family's homes in New York and in Hawley. He was retired as a carpenter since 1985. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Susan G. Cudney, Jr. of Vestal, NY; a daughter and son-in-law: Bonnie and Frank Magliochetti of Media, PA; four grandchildren: Hope, William, Sarah and Katie; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 29, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Memorial Service will be Monday, Dec. 29, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Edward K. Erb, Rector, officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
