Obituary of Thomas Joseph Lacey

Thomas Joseph Lacey, age 67, of Masthope, Lackawaxen, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at home. Born June 7, 1941, in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph T. and Alice (Nodes) Lacey. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Arleen F. Koehler, on May 11, 2009. Formerly of Middletown, NJ, he was a retired explosives inspector at Earl Naval Weapons Station in Colts Neck, NJ. He had also served in the Army from 1958 and 1961. Mr. Lacey was a member of Knight of Columbus Council #2858 of N. Middletown, NJ, and Wilson Kelch Post #311 American Legion. He also loved to do woodworking and building. He is survived by four children: Edward P. Lacey of Hawley, PA, Phyllis Kurtz of Copley, OH, Thomas Joseph Lacey Jr. of Middletown, NJ, and Kelly Ann Susino of Keansburg, NJ; nine grandchildren: Tara, Jenel, Joseph, Christopher, Brendan, Thomas III, Brittany, Morgan and Colin; a great grandchild: Brayden; seven brothers and sisters: Alice Lacey of Keansburg, NJ, Margaret McGowan of Toms River, NJ, Patrick Lacey of N. Arlington, NJ, Edward Lacey of Oakhurst, NJ, Walter Lacey of Middletown, NJ, Catherine Cusano of Middletown, NJ, and Mary Lacey of North Carolina; a sister-in-law: Susanne Lacey of Keansburg, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, George and James Lacey. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 26, from 2 to 4 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Prayer Service will be Tuesday, May 26, at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Deacon Glenn Biagi of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church of Shohola officiating. Private cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
