Marie N. McKean, age 92, of, Hawley died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Mrs. McKean was born November 27, 1916 in Rowland, PA and was the daughter of the late George Curtis and Eva (Williams) Quick. She was predeceased by her husband, George McKean. Marie was a chicken & diary farmer for many years and loved to cook and bake. She loved her children & grandchildren. She was employed at Woodloch Pines in housekeeping department for 15 years. She & her family founded and continue to operate "Fanasty Island". She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Carolyn & Ronald Gray of Baoba, Hawley, PA; one son: George "Skip" McKean of Baoba, Hawley, PA; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy McCauley of Scranton, PA, Bertha Chuprevich of Hawley, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Unangst; a grandson, Geroge Thomas McKean; a great grandson, Georgie McKean; a daughter-in-law, Margaret McKean; 3 bothers, Ted, Walter and Arnold Quick; and 3 sisters, Elizabeth Landers, Catherine Compton, Hattie Quick. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 12th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Monday, July 13th at 10:00AM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley. Burial will be in McKean Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., 63 North Franklin St., Kirby Health Center Annex, Wilkes-barre, PA 18701
