Frank Boria, age 57, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley, died Thursday, August 20, 2009, at home. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, the former Lisa Lubrano.
Born January 30, 1952, in New York City, NY, he was the son of Francisco Boria of Puerto Rico and Luz Rodriguez of Yonkers, NY.
He was a graduate of Clinton High School in the Bronx where he played football and wrestled.
He was a retired letter carrier for the United State Postal Service. Formerly of City Island, NY, he was a Fawn Lake resident for 21 years. He currently worked in the maintenance department at Woodloch Pines, Hawley. Frank was also owner and operator of Short Cuts, a lawn care service.
He was a member of BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church where he was also a member of the choir. He was a faithful blood donor for the Red Cross, a driver for Lackawaxen Volunteer Ambulance and a former March of Dimes Fund Walk participant. A community-minded guy, he was always ready with a smile and a helping hand.
Fascinated by lighthouses, he also loved music, dancing and river rafting. He was an avid player of Texas Hold Em and paddleball.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter, Christine Schaefer, and her fiancee, Danaca Clark, of Irvington, NY; his son, Jason Boria, at home; two sisters, Elba Lopez of Yonkers, NY, and Amelisa Boria of Puerto Rico; one brother, William Boria also of Puerto Rico; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Monday, Aug. 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut St., Hawley, celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Tuesday.
