Obituary of Walter C. Meyer

Walter C. Meyer, age 85, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at home. Mr. Meyer was born February 27, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Christopher and Charlotte (Stockfish) Meyer. He was a Staff Sgt in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a flight controller. He retired as stock manager from Metco in Westbury, Long Island in 1986. He loved to read & do crossword puzzles. His happy hour was from 3 to 4 PM Mr. Meyer was a member of Masonic Lodge #1043 in Bayshore, LI, NY. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Evelyn (Mott) Meyer; three daughters & sons-in-law, Janice & Peter Yule of Goode, VA; Jean & Daniel Massaro of Bohemia, LI, NY; Laraine & Dr. Timothy George of Brightwaters, LI; Seven grandchildren, Brett, Nicole, Jesse, Jake, Gerry, Olivia and Tess. Calling hours will be Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 from 2 to 3 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by the memorial service at 3:00PM with Rev. Norman R. Beighley, Pastor Bethel Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, 746 Jefferson Ave., Scranton, PA 18501
