Stephen Dziak, age 87, of Hemlock Point, Greentown, died Friday, February 12, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Born April 19, 1922, in Hazleton, PA, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Pristas) Dziak. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, the former Nancy Kohutis, in 2007. A World War II Army veteran, he was a retired assembler for American Flange, Linden, NJ, where he worked for 25 years. Formerly of Carteret, NJ, he was active in many church and youth activities in New Jersey, especially St. Elias Greek Catholic in Carteret and coaching CYO Basketball. A Greentown resident for 18 years, he was a member of BVM Queen of Peace / St. Veronica's RC Churches. He is survived by one daughter: Gerry Dziak of Greentown; one son: Stephen Dziak Jr. of Houston, TX; two sisters: Helen Kuntz of Southampton, PA, and Irene Wackley of Hazleton, PA; three brothers: Joseph, Nicholas and Michael Dziak, all of Hazleton, PA; a grandson: Andrew Dziak of Houston, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 15, from 6 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a Funeral Mass onTuesday, Feb. 16, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Pike Unit, 110 W. Harford St, Milford, PA 18337
