Obituary of Joachim F. Aue

Joachim F. Aue, age 83, of Hawley died Friday, April 2, 2010, at home. Born December 10, 1926, in Neu Keukendorf, Germany, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Eliese Erxleben Aue. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, the former Rosemarie Hagenmeier. He served in the German Army during World War II where he was captured by Russians and released in 1949. He was a retired automotive engineer for Volkswagen in Germany and later in New Jersey. Mr. Aue was a member of the Lake Wallenpaupack German-American Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Gisela Wolfensteller and Vera Aue, both of Frankfurt, Germany. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 12 Noon at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley, PA. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon immediately prior to the service. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel, PA. Memorial contribution may be made to the Lake Wallenpaupack German/American Club.
