Obituary of Thomas J Clarke

Thomas J. Clarke, age 42, of Middletown, NY, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at home. Born October 22, 1967, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Thomas and Jean Clarke of Hawley, PA. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and the New York City Police Department. He was a recipient of the Medal for Valor, one of the NYPD's highest awards. His sons were the love and joy of his life, and he enjoyed taking them fishing, playing football, and riding dirtbikes, where he was most at joy. He also loved riding his motorcycle, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Thomas and Austin; and two sisters, Valarie Clark-Kenny of Westbury, NY, and Michele Rasmussen of Westwood, NJ. He is also survived by his wife, Amanda. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 18th, from 7 to 9 PM and Monday, April 19th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 20th, at 10:00AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, officiated by Rev. William Blake. Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley. Anyone planning on attending the mass is asked to go directly to the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Thomas and Austin Clarke Education Fund, c/o Penn Star Bank, in name of Thomas & Jean Clark, PO Box 220, Hamlin, PA 18427, attn: Mary Ellen Bentler. Anyone needing local accommodations may contact Woodloch Pines at 570-685-8000 and mention the Clark family funeral.
