Raymond W. Anderson, age 64, of Hawley died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, NY after a 2-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Christine Ziergoebel Anderson. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late George and Ida (Dillon) Anderson. He had been employed by New York City as a carpenter for 33 years. He was a veteran of the US Army stationed in Hanau, Germany. He loved being outside, working in his yard, woodworking, and building anything from birdhouses to decks and ponds. He loved spending time with his family. Also surviving are his threes sons: Raymond and his wife LeighAnn of White Plains, MD; Kevin and his wife Danielle of Hawley, PA; and Derek and his wife Kristina of Scranton, PA; his brothers: Donald Anderson of NJ and Harry Waller of NY; and his six grandchildren: Drew, Kaidence, Patrick, Morgan, Mia and Lillian. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Maren Anderson, his brothers George and Martin Anderson, and his parents George and Ida Anderson. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, at 10:00 AM in Green Gates Cemetery, Rt. 590, Hawley, PA. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 13, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley, PA 18428. Interment will be held at Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley, PA.
