Obituary of Joan E. Glazier

Joan E. Glazier, age 75, of Tanglwood Lakes, Greentown died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Scranton. Mrs. Glazier was born October 13, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of the late Alfred Lewis and Francis Elizabeth (Holmes) Haly. She graduated form Upper Darby High School in 1952. Joan first came to Tanglwood Lakes in 1982 as a weekend resident, but in 1993 she and her husband retired to the area after residing overseas and teaching middle school children at the local US Army base near their residence in Bad Nauheim, Germany. In retirement she enjoyed reading, playing and teaching bridge, church, being the treasurer of the Wallenpaupack Historical Society and spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Richard W.Glazier and one son: Daniel L. Glazier of Point Pleasant, NJ and one grandson, Austin M. Glazier of Point Pleasant, NJ. The funeral will be Tuesday, August 10th at 11:00 AM at Hemlock Grove United Methodist Church, 491 Roemerville Rd., Greentown with Rev. Robert Visscher, II, officiating. Following the service a reception for family and friends will be held at Paupack Hills Country Club on Country Club Dr in Tanglwood Lakes. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel. Memorials may be made to Hemlock Grove United Methodist Church, in the name of Joan Glazier intended to support the Community Mission Center Ministry which is in development, 491 Roemerville Rd., Greentown, PA 18426.
