Obituary of Charlotte R. Davis

Charlotte R. Davis, age 90, of Hemlock Farms, Lords Valley, died Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Arthur J. Davis, in 1989. Born March 19, 1923, in West New York, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Gertrude (Seiler) Riehmann and was a graduate of Bogota High School. Prior to her retirement, she the secretary for the Board of Education of Upper Saddle River, NJ. She was a member and former choir director and accompanist of the Bergen Highlands United Methodist Church in Upper Saddle River, NJ, and also a member and the choir director and accompanist at the Church at Hemlock Farms, Lords Valley, PA. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting sailor's hats and crocheting animals and nativity scenes to benefit the Church at Hemlock Farms. She is survived by one son: James W. "Jim" Davis and his wife Becky of Lakewood, CO. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Riehmann. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 16, at 2:30 PM at Green Gates Cemetery, Rt. 590, Hawley with Pastor Herbert Jacobsen of the Church at Hemlock Farms officiating. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, at 11:00 AM at the Church at Hemlock Farms, Lords Valley, PA. Memorials may be made to Church At Hemlock Farms, 1493 Hemlock Farms, Lords Valley, Hawley, PA 18428.
