Obituary of Walter Edward Arasimowicz

Walter Edward Arasimowicz, age 73, of Lakeville died following an illness Monday, October 11, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Dorothy Lippa.
Born February 5, 1937, in Old Forge, PA, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Julia (Ostroski) Arasimowicz. He attended Fairleigh-Dickenson University in New Jersey.
Formerly of West Orange, NJ, he and his family moved to Lakeville over 40 years ago. Walter bought two distributorships, Pepperidge Farm and Thomas' English Muffins and delivered to a majority of stores and restaurants in the Eastern Pennsylvania Region. He retired four years ago to take care of his garden and cook for his family, his two favorite pastimes.
In his youth, he was an avid golfer, skier and sailor. He and his wife taught their children the fun of all sports and all three followed in their footsteps.
He was the former PTA president for Honesdale Catholic School and a sponsor of a bowling teams.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Walter Jr. of Miami, FL, and Philip and his wife Kim of Lakeville; a daughter, Cynthia Enger and her husband Rick of Honesdale; four grandchildren, Richard and Jason Enger and Michael and Jenna Marie Arasimowicz; three sisters, Camille Koneval and her husband Ken of Sparta, NJ, Julianne Arasimowicz of Lakeville, and Gertrude Moore of Salem, OR; a niece, a nephew and an uncle.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Arasimovwicz.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Oct. 17, from 2 to 6 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, Oct. 18, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, with Father Irudaya Illuri, Assistant Pastor, officiating.
Private cremation was held at Woodlawn-North Purchase Cemeteries, Attleboro, MA.
