Frank A. Cossentino, age 57, of Tanglwood North, Tafton, died unexpectedly Thursday, October 14, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Rita L. Lapczynski Cossentino.
Born March 2, 1953, in Bronx, NY, he was the son of Elizabeth (Betty) Smochovich Cossentino of Jackson, NJ, and the late Frank J. Cossentino.
An Air Force Veteran, Frank worked for the Middlesex County Parks Dept in New Jersey for 32 years before retiring in 2004. He then moved to Pennsylvania where he wished to be for the rest of his life.
Franky would eat, sleep and dream of hunting. This was his time of the year. He spent all summer back and forth on the phone with his best buddy Bobby, his hunting buddy of nearly 50 years. He couldn't wait to get into the woods. He loved being at Johnny's on the Hill and spending time with his hunting buddies there.
The Cossentino family would like to thank their buddy "Butchie" and dear friend Evelyn and family for all their help in this difficult time.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a sister: Marie Nicholas and husband Warren of Florida; a brother: John Cossentino and wife Carrie of Jackson, NJ; three nephews: Anthony his godson, Dominic and Vincent of Florida and their children; his mother-in-law: Theresa Lapczynski and sister-in-law: Lucy Lapczynski, both of whom resided with him; his sisters-in-law: Charlotte Gudorp and her husband Chuck of Metuchen, NJ, LeeAnn Gudorp of Virginia, Teri Hansen and her husband Jim, Nancy Wojciehowski and her husband Ben, and Amy Wojciehowski, Patti Lapczynski and her children Kathleen and Steven, all of New Jersey; his brothers-in-law: John Lapczynski and his children, Joseph and Laura, James Lapczynski and his wife Michele and their children Connor, Jessica and Michael, Mark Lapczynski and his wife Renee and their son Nicholas; his best friends of many years: Bobby and Angela Myers; his godchildren: Jimmy and Michele Meyers and their children Jimmy Jr. and Sophia; his dear friends: Paul and Linda Zielny and Diane DesJardins; his dear friends and hunting buddies: Rusty Clusman and his wife Blanca and Eric Shoemaker and his wife Joan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful neighbors.
Calling hours will be Monday, Oct. 18, from 2 to 4 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Prayer Service will be Monday, Oct. 18, at 4:00 PM at the funeral home, with Father Irudaya Illuri, Assistant Pastor of BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
