Obituary of Marigene G. Hooper

Marigene G. Hooper, age 81, of Spinnlers Point, Tafton, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at home.
Mrs. Hooper was born July 4, 1929, in Northampton, PA and was the daughter of the late Warren J.D. Geary and Gene E. Grosser Geary. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert "Harry" Hooper, in 1990 and her sister, Ruth Holman, in 2004.
After graduating from Hazleton High School, Marigene earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science at Richmond Professional Institute, College of William and Mary. Prior to retirement, she was a social worker for Pike County Children and Youth. After retirement, she enjoyed her quilting, knitting, crossword puzzles and especially her grandchildren.
Formerly of Hazleton and Levittown, she had lived at Spinnlers Point since 1973, but she had a summer home at Lake Wallenpaupack all her life.
She is survived by her daughter Christine and her husband Curt Spafford, her son Richard and his wife Elizabeth, two grandsons Richard and Matthew Hooper, a granddaughter Cyrena Spafford, three nephews and her feline companion Rosita.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 20th at 1 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Paupack, PA.
