Carl Porto, age 82, of Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, Lake Ariel, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at Community Medical Center Hospice, Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Mary Carlini. Born September 16, 1928, in Fairview, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bettina (Boccasilie) Porto. A World War II Army veteran, he retired as a Master Carpenter from New Jersey Carpenters' Local #15 in 2001. A former resident of Fairvew, NJ, he was a volunteer fireman for 30 years and also served as a New Jersey Housing Inspector prior to moving to Pennsylvania after his retirement. He attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Ledgedale. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Dale Porto and her husband Robert Whitaker of Lakeville and Linda Porto and her husband Thomas McCarroll of Brookfield, CT; three sisters: Ann Caleca of Hendersonville, TN, Katie Occhipinti of N. Bergen, NJ, and Joan Cohen of Norwood, NJ; one brother: Joseph Porto of Little Falls, NJ; two grandchildren: Corymm and Christopher; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at AK Macagna Funeral Home, 495 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass on Sat., Nov. 6, at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Grace RC Church, Fairview, NJ. There will also be a Funeral Mass on Mon., Nov. 8, at 10:00 AM at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Ledgedale, PA, followed by a graveside service at St Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice Of Lackawanna County, 301 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, PA 18447
