Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth James De Vito, age 69, of Pocono Lake, PA and formerly of Alexandria, VA, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Ken was born June 21, 1941 in Astoria, New York and was the son of the late Michael De Vito and Louise De Vito. He served in the Army from 1964-1967, resigning as a Captain and then served 35 years in Federal Service, retiring in 2000 from the Defense Logistics Agency in Fort Belvoir, VA. He was an actively involved member of his community, Locust Lake Village. One of his proudest accomplishments was becoming an Army Airborne Ranger (during which time, he swears he ate snakes for dinner). Ken enjoyed spending time at "his lake", taking pictures, fishing, boating, spending time with his dog Marley and driving his quad around the village. He enjoyed anything having to do with technology and always had the latest gadget. He was known to friends as the TECXPRT which he proudly displayed anywhere he could. He is survived by his three children, Sabine Joan De Vito of Pordenone, Italy, Jacqueline Shirley De Vito of Lorton, Virginia and Michael Kenneth De Vito of Hawley, Pennsylvania; his grandchild, Victor Antonio Dal Negro; and his two brothers, Raymond De Vito and Frank De Vito and their families. Calling hours will be Friday, Dec. 17th from Noon to 3 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by the funeral service at 3 PM with Father Irudaya Illuri Assistant Pastor B.V.M. Queen of Peace RC Church, officiating. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Locust Lake Village (HC 87 Box 121, Pocono Lake, PA 18347) or the ASPCA ( www.aspca.org) in his name.
