Obituary of Edward W Rowe

Edward "Ed" Walter Rowe, 84, of Honesdale, PA, passed away at his home with his family by his side on December 17, 2010, after a brief illness. His wife of 60 years is the former June Frisbe who he lovingly cared for over many years.
Born September 14, 1926, in Adelia, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob and Carrie Rowe.
In his younger years he was a self-employed lumberman and for most of his life he operated Rowe Brothers Dairy Farm with his brothers Bob and Joe and later with his son Randy and nephew Joey.
Ed was an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman and in the early years played baseball for Cherry Ridge. He had a kennel and enjoyed raising beagles for hunting and he had a passion for working with horses, particularly Clydesdales. Ed's sense of humor was his prized attribute, he could be counted on to say something funny that would make you think, laugh, and realize the joke was on you.
He is survived by his son Randy and his wife Sandy, of Honesdale, and his grandchildren, Amber Rowe Cocks and Cory Rowe, grandson Jake and his wife Teresa who all cared for him throughout his illness. A son Edward and his wife Sue, of Seelyville, and his grandchildren Melissa, Justin, and Joshua. Also surviving are 3 brothers, Bob and his wife Madeline, Jim and and his wife Lou, and Joe and his wife Katie, all of Honesdale. Ed thoroughly enjoyed his time with his great-grandchildren, Hayden and Delaney Rowe and Carter Cocks.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wulff, and a brother, Bill Rowe.
The Rowe Family would like to thank all of their friends and family that supported them over the years especially the last several months with a special thanks to Madeline Rowe.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 19, from noon - 4pm at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley. The Funeral Service will be Monday, December 20, at 10:30 am at Teeters' East Chapel with Rev. William Rushik, Pastor of the South Canaan Free Methodist Church officiating.
