Obituary of William C. Gumble

William C. Gumble, Sr., age 73, Gumbletown Rd., Paupack, died Wednesday, February 9, at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former JoAnne Harris, in April 2010.
Born December 8, 1937, in Hawley, he was the son of the late Harold B. and Dorette (Timmermann) Gumble.
A lifelong resident of Paupack, he graduated Hawley High School, Class of 1955; Dartmouth College, Class of 1959; and Dickinson School of Law in 1963.
A retired lawyer, he had practiced law in Milford and Paupack and formerly served as the Pike County District Attorney. He was affiliated with Gumble Bros., Inc., in Paupack as part owner. He was the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of PennStar Bank, former Board Member of NBT Bank, member of the Free & Accepted Masons and the Shriners. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was also a member of Paupack Fish and Game Club.
He is survived by one son: William Gumble Jr. of Paupack; a stepdaughter: Jackie Kizer of Hamlin; two stepsons: John Walsh of Hamlin and Jeremy Walsh of Greentown; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack.
