Grandpa I wish you didn't have to go so soon. You lived such a good long life and your love will continue to go on forever. I will always remember how your love for nana was so deep and so real. Every time I would come over you would always be sitting in your chair reading, and sometime throughout the night you would look over to nana and then tell me how much you loved her and that one day I will find someone and love them just as much. grandpa your the one who has taught me to love and to love forever. I will always treasure the times we spent together and I will never forget that I had the worlds greatest grandpa! I love you grandpa and miss you very much... I won't have to say goodbye though because you will always be in my heart and in my thoughts and one day I will see you again. I love you grandpa and I know many others love and miss you too!

Our Grandpa, we have lost our Empire State Building... Always stood strong, tall, and proud. I love and will miss the way he always had so much pride in all of his and Nana's creations. (Which is enough to start a whole new town)
I will never forget all the great times we all spent together from all of our get togethers to the summers I got to spend, and the life lessons he taught me while I got to live with him while going to college. I even miss the times we spent together chopping wood to fill the wood shed for the winter. I loved every minute I got to spend with him no matter what we were doing. In 9th grade woodsop I made him a wooden plaque that said "I finally got it all together, but I forgot where I put it", and he hung it on his livingroom wall. Everytime I would go to visit, he would show me the plaque on the wall, and we would both get a laugh out of it. His pride in his family was never hidden.
I will never forget our fun times as a kid going to Coney Island, riding on the tailgate of the station wagon. All of the fun family times singing around the piano. The endless CC stories he would tell me. I loved how he could hold himself straight off the carport pole in the driveway in River Edge. I love his pride in Nana, and his strong love for her. You cannot say enough for 70 years of marriage. I could go on and on and on...
I will never forget anything about you Grandpa. You take a piece of my heart with you. I and many others will miss you.

So many wonderful memories where do I start! We were all blessed to have him in our lives, I think of him and have to smile. I will always picture him in his chair in the livingroom smoking those gigantic cigars and trips to Callahans for hot dogs. His smile and sense of humor. His stories of building things with my Dad like the front steps at Kenwood Road he said would last through an earthquake. When they were on the board of education together. Mr. Fusco, my Dad and Mr. D singing at parties we had on the street and at weddings. Just so, so many memeories. I love you Mr. D and will miss you terribly. Love Nancy

Granpa was a great many who was loved by many. He will live on in our memories. Granpa inspired my love of reading and always is in my thoughts; if I can try to even be half the person that he was I will feel blessed. We love and miss you.

I am so sorry for each of you in your loss.Mr. Mc Donoughs passing is an end of an era for so many of us kids who grew up on Kenwood Road.To this day I can not hear a Irish song without thinking of his beautiful voice serenading us from chilhood into adulthood. The Mc Donough home was a welcome refuge for all. Mr. Mc Donough never worried about a pool ruining his lawn or a swing set leaving barespots. He welcomed us kids and made it fun for us to be kids. As an adult, I think of the example he set in regards to what a family is. He was always affectionate and loving to his beautiful wife, Anne, he would take his kids on long cross country trips to expose them to new learning experiences. He would pile all us kids in the back of the sationwagon and take us to the drive in movies in the summer. He demonstrated via his life and actions that family is the most important thing in the world. What a wonderful example he lived and set for us. His memory lives on in my heart and will always till I meet him again. May he rest in peace and may you all find comfort in your memories and the love you shared.
