Obituary of Agnes Honigman

Agnes Honigman nee Osterman, age 93, of Somers, NY, and formerly of Richmond Hill, Queens, NY, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Northern Westchester Medical Center in Mt. Kisco, NY. Agnes and her husband Frank had also been seasonal residents of Hawley, PA, for seventy-five years.
Mrs. Honigman was born August 5, 1917, in Ridgewood, NY, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Kaifesch) Osterman who had immigrated to the United States from Gottschee.
Prior to her marriage, Agnes was employed by Fisher Steven, a multigraphing company and, in later years, held the position of PTA President at Public School 90 in Queens, as well as working at Richmond Hill High School as a school aide and switchboard operator. She took pride in her home, taking care of her husband and raising her three daughters. She enjoyed baking, cooking, traveling and visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years: Frank F. Honigman; three daughters: Joan Fetto and her husband Ralph of New Fairfield, CT, Priscilla Hrabovsky and her husband George of Paupack, PA, and Brenda Jeselnik and her husband Joseph of Pound Ridge, NY; one brother: Adolph Ostermann and his wife Marie of Glendale, Queens, NY; seven grandchildren: Thomas Fetto, Jeanine Diller, Jennifer Sparks, Allison and George Hrabovsky, and Jaclyn and Joseph Jeselnik; seven great grandchildren: Ryan, Daniel, Nathalie, Justin, Emily, Jake and Ella; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and Bill Butcher.
Calling hours will be Monday, March 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 29, at 10 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, PA.
Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery in Hawley, PA.
