Obituary of Barbara A. Rogers

Barbara A. Rogers, age 67, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley died following an illness on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Harold J. Rogers.
Born September 21, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mickey (Wassmer) Boyle. She was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School. Formerly of Brooklyn, NY, she had been a Fawn Lake resident since 1987. A 20-plus year employee, she had worked in the reservations department of Woodloch Pines prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Rogers was a lifelong member of Central Volunteer Fire Company and a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hawley. She was a dedicated grandmother who loved arts, crafts and baking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: John Rogers and his wife Marissa of Staten Island, Kelly Flaherty and her husband Micheal of Lexington, MA, and Kim Mitchell and her husband Bill of Flemington, New Jersey; six grandchildren: Jack Rogers, Christian, Eileen and Reagan Flaherty, and Conner and Olivia Mitchell; three sisters: Frances James, Dorothy Hamby and Peggy Myers; and a brother: Ed Boyle.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 3 to 7 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Friday, January 3, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 405 Church St., Hawley, with Rev. Colleen I. Cox, Pastor, officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
