Michael G. Longhenry, age 37, of Lords Valley died Friday, May 13, 2011, at Northeast Pennsylvania Hospice, Scranton. He is survived by his wife, Tamara Johnston Longhenry, of Ontario, Canada. Born November 21, 1973, in Port Jervis, NY, he was the son of John E. and Lorraine J. (Hatton) Longhenry of Lords Valley. He was a 1992 graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School where he was the 1992 WAHS Power Mechanics VICA Award recipient. He worked as yardman for Narrowsburg Lumber and had also worked for Kmart Automotive and Snyder's Tire and Auto. In the past, he had served as Assistant Chief of Blooming Grove Fire Dept., as well as its Foreman and Engineer. He loved spending time with his children and his black lab, Toby. He also enjoyed cooking and playing sports. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two children: Brianna and Brandon, both of Ontario, Canada; a sister: Terri of Lords Valley; two brothers: Shawn and his wife Jennifer of Lords Valley and Ronald Smith of Kresgeville; his maternal grandmother: Beatrice Hatton of Lords Valley; a niece: Taylor; and two nephews: Johnathan and Gavin Longhenry of Lords Valley. He was preceded in death by a brother, John, in 2000; his maternal grandfather, George Hatton; his paternal grandparents, Marion and Elmer Longhenry; and an aunt, Joyce Schaffer. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday, May 18, from 10 to Noon at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 18, at 12:00 Noon at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, with Rev Douglas Rhine, Pastor of Blooming Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lords Valley Cemetery.
