Obituary of Scott Thomas Vennie

Scott Thomas Vennie , 47 of Blooming Grove, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 22, 2012, the date of his twenty-second wedding anniversary. His wife of 22 years is the former Erin Chase Vennie.
Born June 24, 1965, in Honesdale, he was the son of Kathryn Quinnan Vennie of Hawley and the late Samuel M. Vennie.
He was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, Class of 1984.
Scott had a big heart and was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He especially enjoyed supporting his daughter in her many sports and activities. He was her hero. He was very involved in school and community activities and will be greatly missed by his many friends.
Scott owned and operated Vennie Builders and Excavating since 1984, having started the business shortly after graduating from high school. He became one of the most respected builders in the Lake Wallenpaupack area, not only for the exceptional craftsmanship of his homes, but because of his fine character as a business man. He had served on the Blooming Grove Planning Commission. He was also a member of the Rock Oak Hunting Club and the Wayne County Builders Association.
Surviving are his daughter Shannon Vennie of Blooming Grove; his brothers Michael and his wife Rose of Strasburg VA, Steven of Hawley, Patrick and his wife Tracy of Hawley, and Brian and his wife Traci of Blooming Grove; nieces Hannah, Ryleigh and Molly Vennie; nephews Sean and Bailey Vennie, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 26, from 4 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, September 27, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor officiating.
Anyone planning on attending the Funeral Mass is asked to go directly to the church.
