Obituary of Pauline Roethel

Pauline Roethel, age 90, of Wilmington, DE, and formerly of Hawley, PA and Glendale, Queens, NY, died Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Foulk Manor North in Wilmington, DE.
Mrs. Roethel was born September 2, 1921, in Slovenia and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresia Eppich.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Karl J. Roethel, who died in 1943 in the European Theatre of Operations of World War II, where he was also decorated with a Purple Heart. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, John Roethel, in 2009; her son, Charles Roethel; her brothers, Richard and Frank Eppich; and her sister, Marie Goebel.
She was a wonderful mother and dedicated wife. Mrs. Roethel was a former member of BVM Queen of Peace RC Church in Hawley and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Delaware. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughter: Ericka Roethel Walker and her husband, Clint of Wilmington, DE; one granddaughter, Katiehwo resides in California; a brotherand sister-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Eppich of Glendale , NY; a brother: Joseph Eppich of Queens, NY; a sister-in-law: Theresia Eppich; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 12th, from 3 to 6 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 13th, at 10 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley.
Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery in Hawley.
