Obituary of Scott Lee Fenstermaker

Scott Lee Fenstermaker, age 83, of Greentown and formerly of Allentown, PA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, after an illness.
Mr. Fenstermaker was born June 25, 1928 on a farm in Egypt, PA with his brother, Mark Fenstermaker and was the son of the late Marcus and Eva (Coffman) Fenstermaker. He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years Viola (Fields) Masker Fenstermaker in 2001. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his step-son, Lether Masker and grandson Michael Surplice.
He worked for Trojan Powder Co. for 44 years as a driver and dynamite blaster. Scott drove all over many states blasting rocks to make way for interstates, including I-84 East. Scott and Viola married in Allentown, later retiring and moving to Greentown, where Scott loved to do woodworking and carpentry work. He made many beautiful clocks for family and close friends. Scott called his home "The Mountain" where family and friends would gather often to share stories and laughs. Scott had a summer home on the St. Lawrence River at Thousand Island, NY where he loved to fish. He also loved to hunt and enjoyed time with his friends at the 402 Diner.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, June Yuskiewicz of Hawley, PA; four granddaughters, Mary & Bill Thek of Wyoming; Theresa Ehwald of Scranton, PA; Lisa & Don Johnson of Hawley, PA; Jennifer Yushiewicz and fiancé Aaron McCollum of Hawley, PA; grandson, James & Sara Surplice of Hawley, PA; grandson-in-law, Rudy Ehwald of Hawley and several great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 19th, from 7 to 8:30 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 8:30, with Rev Douglas Rhine, Pastor Blooming Grove Baptist Church, officiating.
Cremation was at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
